Good Boy, Fearless!

I was delighted to hear today that Fearless has been shortlisted for the Children's Book Council of Australia's Book of the Year award. I think Colin has created a really lovable, enduring character, and I'm glad I got the chance to draw him, and I'm glad that other people seem to enjoy him and his well-meaning, hopelessly clueless carryings-on. It's a real honour to be included in the CBCA awards, because there is a wealth of talent and some truly amazing books in both the Notable Books list and the shortlists. Congratulations to all the authors and illustrators whose books were selected - I think any kids who are planning to read these books are in for a wild and wonderful ride! And in the meantime, I'll stand around smelling my glorious and unfeasibly large bunch of flowers, sent by Belinda Bolliger and the Publishing team at ABC Books/HarperCollins. Thanks, guys...
