Baby Face
The character development saga... I'm trying to work out what the baby is going to look like in the book I'm working on - she's the main character and the star of the show, so she needs to have charisma. I've mostly been sketching actual babies to get a better feel for how they're put together. I think that I sort of take refuge in drawing realistically, because it's easier to copy a photo or sketch an object than to come up with something more interesting and original... so that's always my nice safe starting point. But now I'm trying to move on to extract essence of baby from all my doodling. we're going for... um... cartoon realism? Is that a style? Who knows... who needs isms anyway?
