Ever wondered why dogs can't climb trees?

Well apparently way back in the mists of once upon a time, a long long time ago, etc. etc., they could. They swung through the trees and hung out eating fruit with their best friend monkey. But then they got lazy and made monkey do all the work - sheesh! So one day Monkey stayed up the tree, ate all the bananas, and threw the sticky pile of peel down to Dog. It was such a gooey mess that it glued Dog's paws together, and hey presto! Earthbound hound. No more swinging from branch to branch.
